COMPANY/CLIENT:Various ROLE IN PROJECT:Illustration, invitation design, and layout design
I have had the great pleasure of creating various, personalized invitations for baby showers, birthdays, weddings, and holidays.
Since 2008, I have created a holiday greeting card that respresented my family and our sense of humor. It’s a mix of digital illustration and handmade finish. Many have told me that they always look forward to receiving these cards. For this particular card, I wanted to show our recent love for standup paddle boarding and to introduce the newest member of our family.

Hello, hello! My name is Liza-Monette C. Balana. Currently, I am the owner of Liza-Monette Design Studio — a one-woman, multidisciplinary, freelance Graphic Design studio based out of San Diego, California. I started Liza-Monette Design Studio in 2009, but have been working professionally in graphic design and illustration for almost a decade now. I consider myself a full-time, part-time, all-the-time, any-time Graphic Designer and Illustrator, so I am always interested and open to discovering any new opportunities. I am very driven, determined and highly motivated. I work predominantly within the digital arts field, but I also have experience in traditional/analog art (e.g., painting, drawing, sketching, sewing). I enjoy creating works by hand, as much as I do by computer. My professional experience extends to different brands and accounts. I’ve worked with both startup companies and large corporations. By working with a variety of clients and fulfilling each of their distinct needs, I have developed a keen instinct for what will successfully work and what will not. I am a passionate, talented, and innovative designer and would be a great addition to any creative team. No matter what the task at hand may be, I strive to deliver nothing but maximum results.
From as early as she can remember, Liza-Monette has always been drawing, creating, crafting, and designing. Art and Design has always been her passion. It has always been a part of her identity. Liza-Monette finds inspiration everywhere. From fine art to cartoons; from interior design to fashion design; from the shapes formed by clouds in the sky to random markings on walls. Her experience extends to different brands and accounts, large corporations and start-up companies. These experiences have kept her attuned to various styles, from classic and sophisticated, to edgy and trendy. Liza-Monette also has experience with traditional/analog art (painting, drawing, sketching, sewing, etc.). She loves creating works by hand as much as she does by computer. In January 2009, Liza-Monette decided it was time to share her style, expertise, talent, and innovative ideas with the whole world. And so, Liza-Monette Design Studio was born. DOWNLOAD RESUME
